What makes it hybrid

The syllabus is CBSE. The classroom is not ordinary.

The syllabus, examinations and certification are entirely CBSE. What changes is how that syllabus reaches the classroom.

  • Concept-first teaching in place of textbook-first coverage

  • Laboratory work, projects and fieldwork built into the regular timetable, not treated as add-ons

  • Continuous assessment through the year alongside CBSE's formal examination pattern

  • Language, arts, sport and life skills taught by subject specialists, with class sizes capped so teachers can work with students individually

One curriculum, all twelve years

No curriculum switch at any stage

Parents choosing NHIS do not have to plan a curriculum switch at any stage. A child who joins in Playgroup follows the same academic framework right through to the CBSE Class 12 examination.

CBSE board examinations at NHIS

Students appear for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. CBSE certification is recognised by universities across India and by institutions abroad, and it maps directly to the national entrance examinations most students in Bangalore prepare for, including JEE, NEET and CUET.

Learning beyond the syllabus

The Science Park, Robotics Lab and Tinkering Laboratory at NHIS exist so that CBSE topics get tested by hand. Alongside these, students take part in NHMUN, Values Plus, competitive sport and the performing arts.
